Dispatch: New Music +Tour

Dispatch, the pioneers of independent music, are back on tour with 15 North American shows scheduled for summer 2017! The tour announcement was made this previous Friday, and includes two Colorado dates (Red Rocks 06/16 and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival 06/17). Aside from these dates and a stop in Texas, the rest of the shows are confined to the group’s home region of the east coast. Tickets officially go on sale Friday, February 24, but if you use the presale code WILDONES, you can purchase tickets beginning Monday, February 20.This tour is certainly one not to miss, especially with the incredible supporting act Guster joining them at a majority of the shows. I plan on catching this legendary band at Red Rocks, and am incredibly excited to get to see them again. The first show of theirs that I went to is still the best concert I have ever attended.

Along with the tour announcement, the band dropped a brand new single (hopefully a sign of a full album to follow)! The new song, “Only the Wild Ones,” is full of summertime vibes. It is sure to fit perfectly into the band’s live set on the road. The song sticks to the tried and true Dispatch recipe: a continuous, groovy guitar lick, great vocal harmonies, and lyrics that tell a vivid story. In the case of “Only the Wild Ones,” the guitar sounds like it could be straight from Paul Simon’s Gracelandgiving the song its summery nature. The trio’s vocal performance and lyrics are as good as ever, too, and add to the energy of the song by creating an aura of freedom.
