“Astrovan” by Mt. Joy is a classic, laid back road trip song if I’ve ever heard one. There are many great things about this song, but what struck me the most the first time I heard it was the peculiar and vivid imagery created within it. It’s hard not to love a chorus that conjures up the image of a Lebowski-esque Jesus cruising down the road in a beat up, old van. Lyrics aside, the blues and soul infused guitar riffs give this song depth and character that make it an excellent song for losing track of time on those long drives, whether it be heading up to the mountains for the weekend or simply the dreaded morning commute to work.
